IT news: Elon Musk has suggested the creation of artificial intelligence that will surpass humans by 2025

Elon Musk made a bold statement predicting that artificial intelligence (AI) will surpass human intelligence by the end of 2025 or early 2026. In his speech on the platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Musk noted that AI development is progressing rapidly, and soon AI will be capable of performing tasks that exceed the abilities of the smartest humans. His comments were reported by the Financial Times.

"I assume that probably by the end of next year, AI will be smarter than any human," Musk stated. Over the next five years, AI is likely to surpass the capabilities of all humans combined, according to the entrepreneur.

Previously, Musk had predicted the arrival of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) by 2029—a form of AI that, according to OpenAI founder and ChatGPT developer Sam Altman, will "replace the average person." Meanwhile, Demis Hassabis, co-founder and head of Google DeepMind, had predicted that AGI could be created by 2030.

AGI, also known as strong AI, represents a form of artificial intelligence that possesses cognitive abilities comparable to human intelligence. AGI is capable of performing any intellectual task that a human can, with the same degree of efficiency and flexibility.

Musk's company xAI developed the chatbot Grok. This AI model is inspired by a character from Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and was introduced by the company last November. The businessman has mentioned that the AI writes texts with elements of sarcasm and humor and retrieves information in real-time from the social network X. Recently, the billionaire announced that xAI is training a second version of Grok, which, according to the company, is expected to surpass GPT-4.
